Across 30+ countries in EMEA, in industries that look very different on the surface but face the same fundamental pressures once you're inside them.
Finance, life sciences, mobility, FMCG - heavily regulated industries, from publicly listed multinationals to private companies.
As sole in-house counsel and as team-leading General Counsel, building legal functions from scratch in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
That breadth wasn't accidental. Cross-sectoral experience builds pattern recognition that specialists rarely develop. The best strategic advice comes from someone who knows how to deliver it, too.
What draws me most is structural change: the moments when a company is growing faster than its governance, absorbing an acquisition, or working through distress. That's where the General Counsel either earns a seat at the executive table or doesn't - translating legal complexity into decisions the board can act on, diagnosing where the legal function is leaking value, clearing bottlenecks, and reducing cost and risk. I've been fortunate to do this repeatedly, across very different contexts, with genuine curiosity and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Having lived and worked in the Netherlands, Canada, the Caribbean, London, and Frankfurt has built real cross-cultural fluency: the ability to read an organisation, adapt without friction, and hit the ground running in any context.
Trained at a magic circle firm.
Board-qualified with formal governance education.
Accredited mediator. Mentor.
Corporate Secretary across listed and private multinationals. Financially literate. Cross-functionally fluent.
Genuinely engaged with AI and legal design, and what they mean for how legal functions can operate better.
Increasingly drawn to non-executive and board advisory roles, where independent judgment, governance experience, and the ability to ask the right questions can contribute beyond the executive function.
Two areas sit slightly outside the mainstream of my legal career but are no less genuine.
I hold an academic degree in arts and culture and am actively interested in legal advisory and NED roles within the cultural sector, where governance and creative ambition rarely speak the same language by default.
Separately, a WSET Level 3-comparable qualification reflects a genuine passion for wine and the industry around it, and I welcome opportunities where legal expertise and that knowledge overlap.
